BITE Beauty, founded by foodie-turned-makeup-connoisseur Susanne Langmuir, has redefined lipstick, employing nutritious and edible oils, like coconut and avocado, to create a blend of rich — and tasty — shades. The Cut joined forces with BITE Beauty on March 16th to celebrate the launch of Amuse Bouche, the brand’s newest collection of all-natural, handcrafted lipsticks.
The hot Lower East Side restaurant Dirt Candy, and its esteemed chef Amanda Cohen, played host alongside The Cut’s senior beauty editor Kathleen Hou. Cohen, of Iron Chef fame, entertained an influential crowd of beauty insiders with a custom-created menu inspired by the Amuse Bouche line, from beet root monkey bread to black truffle toast. Gorgeous tablescapes, created by Mixed Greens Event Design, featured a vibrant array of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and bullets of Amuse Bouche. The collection, described as a “multi-sensorial experience,” features 34 unique tints, made from edible oils to create the creamiest texture possible. Watercolor menus, designed by Happy Menocal and featuring Ms. Cohen’s artful vegetarian dishes, beautifully complemented the deep pigmentation of the lipstick shades.
Langmuir spoke to the attendees about the brand’s revolutionary methods and Toronto-based lab, where the magic of Amuse Bouche, available exclusively at Sephora, was formed. Notable influencers in the beauty industry including Patrick Ta, Manny Guiterrez and Katy DeGroot applied a bevy of vibrant hues of Amuse Bouche lipsticks at the beauty bar. Fans gathered outside Dirt Candy to catch a glimpse of the influencers. Many of them took to Instagram to tout the line and the luncheon, which were both a resounding success. Cohen’s Amuse Bouche-inspired Meringue provided a beautiful — and delectable — finish to the afternoon.
