Person of Interest, a critique of the surveillance state masquerading as a CBS procedural, will end after its upcoming fifth season, which will premiere on May 5. Many fans had predicted the end of the show with machine-like accuracy, given that CBS had already cut Person of Interest’s fifth season order to 13 episodes and cast co-star Sarah Shahi in its upcoming Nancy Drew pilot. But still, with the end of Person of Interest and the nearly-simultaneous end of The Good Wife, CBS will lose a big chunk of its savviest tech-related programming, while NCIS may simply enlarge and enhance its dominion over the network.
