Ohhhh, those are some peculiar children, all right! What with their crazy shoes and their skull mouths and their air breath. Very odd all around. Maybe it’s just the lingering aftertaste of Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows talking, but from the looks of the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children trailer, director Tim Burton has tastefully restrained himself from going full glossy, bug-eyed Burton on the much-awaited adaptation. Like maybe he had to literally restrain himself with chains and ropes to the floor of a dungeon in a decrepit castle. Though to be fair, that seems like it might be part of his creative process anyway. Miss Peregrine debuts September 30.
