It’s hard to know why Danny McBride and Walton Goggins haven’t appeared in a TV show together before — scheduling conflicts, fear that the resulting cocktail of rowdy southernness might prove deadly — but they’ve found their way together for Vice Principals, an HBO comedy from McBride and Jody Hill, the creative team also behind Eastbound and Down. Over the course of two seasons and 18 episodes, Goggins and McBride will play two vice-principals risking everything to land that coveted top spot at an elementary school. Vice Principals premieres this July, when school is not in session, not that McBride and Goggins are sticklers for realism.
