We don’t know much about 2019, except that Jimmy Kimmel will still be around making celebrities read mean tweets — or Snapchats, or whatever telepathic social media the kids are into then. At ABC’s upfront presentation today, network president Channing Dungey announced that the network made a deal for a three-year contract extension on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel, who is also hosting the Emmys this year, started out at the network in 2003, making him the longest-serving late-night host currently on TV. During ABC’s presentation, Kimmel closed his routine with, “I’ll see you next year, and from what I’m told, the next two years after that!†The joke surely landed great with ad buyers who are big into pranks.
