Phillipa Soo may be leaving Hamilton next month, but she’ll be back on Broadway very — we know it’s bad, we tried to resist, but we just have to bite the bullet and write it — Soo-n. The Tony-nominated actress will star in an upcoming musical adaptation of Amélie. Soo helped develop the role of the manic French dream girl (played by Audrey Tautou in the 2001 film) during the musical’s workshop productions, while Samantha Barks (of Les Misérables) starred as Amélie at the world premiere at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre last year. Soo will start with a limited engagement at L.A.’s Ahmanson Theatre from December 14 to January 16, and the play will move to Broadway at a later date. If that wasn’t enough charming news for you, Soo has also signed on for a part in Disney’s Moana.
