Nicole Kidman is in talks to make a movie with a couple of animal fetishists. Colin Farrell and The Lobster director Yorgos Lanthimos are reuniting for the thematically on-point The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and now Variety reports that Kidman is close to joining. In the film, Farrell will play a surgeon who “attempts unsuccessfully to integrate an increasingly sinister teenager into his family,†while Kidman is circling the role of his wife. Kidman and Farrell are becoming a regular pair, a modern day Jennifer Lawrence/Bradley Cooper, if you will, having recently co-starred in Genius and the upcoming Lion. The Killing of a Sacred Deer is, of course, a modern perversion of the idiom “kill your darlings,†having veered off course due to a dear/deer translation kerfuffle.
