We saw the first trailer for Masterminds well over a year ago, at which point it was slated for release in the summer of 2015. Clearly, that did not happen! Due to all sorts of insanity and drama over at studio Relativity Media, the movie has been in Hollywood limbo for many months. But at long last, it has an official release date – September 30th – along with a new trailer. The comedy, based on a true story, is about “a group of half-brained criminals executing an absurdly faulted heist plan.†The cast is pretty stacked: Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Ken Marino, Jason Sudeikis, Devin Ratray, Jon Daly, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Will it end up being worth the wait? We’ll find out in another couple months.
