Another day, another British show being adapted for American television. Starz has announced that the network will be developing an adaptation of Peep Show — the bizarrely wonderful British sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb that ran for nine seasons on U.K.’s Channel 4 — with series creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong serving as consulting producers and Eli Jorne (Wilfred) signing on as the showrunner. The critically acclaimed series followed the many misadventures of two dysfunctional friends, Mark (Mitchell) and Jeremy (Webb), who share an apartment in London together. But in a unique style and narrative twist, a first-person perspective is utilized and both characters’s inner thoughts can be heard by the viewer. “We are hugely relieved to hand over the responsibility of coming up with the dark and twisted thoughts of two terrible men to the extremely funny, dark, and twisted Eli Jorne,†Bain and Armstrong said in a statement. So, what’s next to adapt — That Mitchell and Webb Look?
