Comedy Central’s late night series hosted by Larry Wilmore is no more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has canceled The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, which premiered in January 2015 and will air its final episode this Thursday. After Nightly Show’s final episode, Comedy Central will air @midnight at 11:30pm until a replacement show takes over the time slot.
“I’m really grateful to Comedy Central, Jon Stewart, and our fans to have had this opportunity,†Wilmore told THR on the news. “But I’m also saddened and surprised we won’t be covering this crazy election or ‘The Unblackening’ as we’ve coined it. And keeping it 100, I guess I hadn’t counted on ‘The Unblackening’ happening to my time slot as well.†After Thursday’s episode airs, The Nightly Show will have produced 259 episodes across two seasons.
