E!’s I Am Cait won’t have a third season after all, Caitlyn Jenner announced on her Twitter account Tuesday. “After 2 amazing seasons of I Am Cait, it’s time for the next adventure,†Jenner wrote. “Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!†The news is not entirely unexpected: Both Jenner and the cable network previously attempted to deny a report that the reality series would be canceled due to poor ratings and an ambivalent reception from trans viewers. “We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs,†E! said in a statement to Vulture, calling the cancellation a mutual decision and promising that Jenner “will always remain a part of the E! family.†This news doesn’t mean the end of Jenner on your TV screen, though: She’s still expected to make regular appearances on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and she’ll guest-star on the next season of Transparent.
