Back in July, Stephen Colbert took a Late Show audience member’s question and responded with a fantastic story about meeting his wife, and before Monday’s show, he was asked about the craziest thing that ever happened to him on the streets of New York and didn’t have an answer. Instead, the question reminded him of the craziest thing that’s ever happened to him period, which took place while he was shooting a Daily Show segment in 1999 at a retirement community. Considering Colbert lost his father at a very young age, it’s pretty great to know he not only got to meet one of his dad’s school buddies but returned home with his yearbook page.
