When you hear the title Doubt, you likely think of Meryl Streep breaking down and uttering the film’s final line, I have such doubts. It would be an appropriate response after you watch the jaunty first-look trailer for Katherine Heigl’s latest post–Grey’s Anatomy outing, Doubt, in which she plays Sadie Ellis, a tough, maybe rebellious lawyer at a boutique law firm who starts falling for her client who’s on trial for murder. That man is played by Steven Pasquale, who is very good at playing kind of creepy men (He played Mark Fuhrman in People v. O.J.) There’s a stacked cast surrounding Heigl: Judith Light plays her mother, and Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox, and Elliott Gould work at the law firm with her. Doubt will premiere mid-season on CBS.
