Try Not to Get Too Emotional While Watching Hamilton’s Very Last Ham4Ham

All good things must come to an end. No, don’t worry, Hamilton itself isn’t ending — don’t ever mutter such a blasphemous thing — but the musical’s eccentric Ham4Ham preshows, which occur outside the Richard Rogers Theater every Wednesday, are. Rory O’Malley has been hosting the Ham4Hams since creator Lin Manuel-Miranda’s departure in July, and despite the preshows remaining as entertaining as ever, they had to end up saying “good-bye.†The last one certainly ended with a bang, though — O’Malley was joined by Renée Elise Goldsberry, Alex Lacamoire, and the Hamilton band to perform a wonderful rendition of “Congratulations,†which was cut from the Broadway production following its initial run at the Public Theater. (Portions of it ended up being incorporated into “The Reynolds Pamphlet.â€) And with that, West 46th Street is now free to return to its normal self on Wednesday afternoons. [Sniffles.]
