Taika Waititi’s 2014 mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows is getting a TV spin-off in New Zealand. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a six-episode half-hour TV series by Waititi and Jemaine Clement will air on New Zealand’s TVNZ 2 called Paranormal Event Response Unit, which will follow the two cops Karen and Mike from What We Do in the Shadows as they “attempt to keep residents of the New Zealand capital safe from supernatural beings.â€
Waititi also said in June that a What We Do in the Shadows sequel called We’re Wolves is still in the works with Rhys Darby. “We want to do it, and we’re coming up with story ideas,†he told Entertainment Weekly. “The first film took us about seven years to make, and we don’t want to do that again. It’s a lot easier now that we have all the characters, and we know how we want to do it, and we know that we can do it.â€
