Kid Cudi usually has a gentle temperament, but it’s always the quiet ones who are most likely to go rogue. In a seemingly unprovoked Twitter outburst Wednesday afternoon, Cudi declared that “the days of fuckery are over.†But the time for taking thinly veiled shots at competitors has only just begun. Cudi started by informing the world that he’s “got so many haters within the industry†who don’t know he’s about to “crush their entire existence.†One such hater is Drake, as Cudi followed up that threat by reviving Drake’s ghostwriting controversy.
And who better to call out someone’s lyrical fraud than one of the men who’s consistently been accused of ghostwriting for Kanye West? Fittingly, Cudi brought his old boss into the mix just in case it wasn’t clear to whom he was really tweeting at.
Cudi and Kanye have had their issues — Cudi left G.O.O.D. Music feeling “underused†— but seemingly made peace when he was invited back into Kanye’s camp to work on The Life of Pablo. At the time, Cudi called himself and Kanye “brothers†and described their reunion as a “beautiful thing to clear the air about.†Now, well, yikes.
There’s just one tiny problem: Kanye is now phoneless and will probably never see these tweets. And so goes the saga of Scott Mescudi.
