The Nielsen ratings for last night’s Emmys hosted by Jimmy Kimmel are in, and they’re not great. According to The Hollywood Reporter, last night’s Emmys on ABC averaged just 11.3 million viewers, beating last year’s ceremony hosted by Andy Samberg as the lowest-rated Emmys ever by over half a million viewers (down 5%). Last year’s Emmys had the disadvantage of airing on a Monday rather than a Sunday night, while this year’s ceremony had some big competition from NBC (Sunday Night Football, 13.7 million) and CBS (The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey, 10.3 million). The Neil Patrick Harris-hosted Emmys from 2013 currently holds the record of the most-watched Emmy Awards ever with 17.6 million viewers.
