Adam Conover and Stephen Colbert Talk Philosophy, Hot Dogs, and the Election

To promote the Adam Ruins Everything election special airing on truTV tonight, Adam Conover appeared on last night’s Late Show, where he ruined a few things for Colbert including diamonds, orange juice, hot dogs, Listerine, and the idea that no presidential nominee has ever stooped as low as Donald Trump has this year. Conover and Colbert also both happen to be former students of philosophy, so they take a few minutes to tackle the biggest question of all: Is it better to know or not to know? “It’s incredibly better to know,� Conover says, to which Colbert replies, “Really? Tell that to Oedipus, my friend.�
