Before she started her search for spiritual and sexual enlightenment on Amazon’s Transparent, actress Amy Landecker had a thriving career as a voice-over artist. Not only did she spend time narrating various pharmaceutical TV ads, but Landecker also held the esteemed position of voice double for Julia Roberts. This means that anytime ADR — additional dialogue recording — was needed for a Roberts film, Landecker would save the day and fill in her words. Vulture caught up with Landecker and her onscreen Transparent siblings, Gaby Hoffmann and Jay Duplass, at the Toronto International Film Festival to chat about her side gig and learn which of Roberts’s movie trailers most prominently feature her vocal prowess.
