Ever since it was announced that Gilmore Girls’ creator Amy Sherman-Palladino was coming back to finish her series the way she always hoped with the Netflix Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life sequel, fans have been sharing their theories on the promised famous final four words. According to legend, ahem, various interviews, Sherman-Palladino knew the words she wanted to end the series with for years, but lost her chance when she and her husband, Dan, were replaced with another showrunner for the seventh season. Newly minted Gilmore Girls fanatic Jimmy Fallon claims he doesn’t want supporting cast members Scott Patterson (Luke), Liza Weil (Paris), and Sean Gunn (Kirk) to spoil those final words on The Tonight Show, but that doesn’t stop him from speculating.
