Ramin Djawadi’s Westworld soundtrack is itself a Turing test of sorts: If you don’t like his instrumental interpretations of the Rolling Stones and Soundgarden, you might have been a square this entire time. “It’s a Western theme park, and yet it has robots in it, so why not have modern songs? And that’s a metaphor in itself, wrapped up in the overall theme of the show,†the show’s composer told Vulture about his “anachronistic†song choices. Now you can listen to the HBO series’ Westernized versions of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,†Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,†Radiohead’s “No Surprises,†and the Cure’s “A Forest.†Depending on how much you love them, it could be an indication you are also an android, but let’s not start pulling apart your robo-arms just yet.
