With reboots constantly being announced, it was only a matter of time before the stars and full moon aligned to give cult favorite An American Werewolf in London its remake. Now, 35 years after the original was released, Deadline reports Max Landis is taking over writing and directing duties. Though Landis is probably best known for his recent gig writing and producing BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, he might have a particular insight into this film project — his dad, John Landis, wrote and directed the original. Hopefully the younger Landis can take a cue from the elder and include a great soundtrack to go along with all the cringe-worthy bone-breaking werewolf transformation and human slaughtering stuff — it makes covering your eyes a bit more enjoyable.
