Mindy Kaling has teamed up with her Mindy Project costar Ed Weeks for a new comedy at ABC. According to Deadline, the network has put into development an untitled single-cam comedy written by Weeks and Peep Show producer Hannah Mackay about “liberal lesbian couple Laurel and Marisa who move with their teenage son to Laurel’s conservative hometown in Kansas to find that their assumptions about Middle America might just be wrong.†Mackay and Weeks will serve as co-executive producers alongside Kaling. Kaling is also producing a sibling comedy in development at NBC with Charlie Grandy, and in September she signed on to star in a movie about a late night talk show host played by Emma Thompson.
