Remember those innocent days before the 2016 election, when your opinion of Donald Trump was shaped by producers of The Apprentice? “Ah, what a fun, loud-mouthed, opinionated character this billionaire businessman is,†you may have thought. Now, though, as Seth Meyers points out on Tuesday’s Late Night, that savvy business acumen looks a lot more like nefarious tax evasion, and Trump’s presumed intelligence is so easily questioned that Samantha Bee was able to create a very plausible conspiracy theory attacking his literacy. “His campaign aides talk about him as if he was a child,†Meyers says about Trump’s impulse control. Maybe if someone offered him two brownies instead of six earlier he wouldn’t have to call his new hotel Scion.
