Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Night, where Seth Meyers takes “A Closer Look†at the anti-Trump protests that have broken out (plus the Trump supporters’ predictably hypocritical response to them) and the not-so-hopeful moves Donald Trump has made as president-elect so far, particularly his appointing of Breitbart’s Steve Bannon as his chief strategist. “So Trump appointed the editor of a website called Breitbart News, which is adored by white nationalists, to be his chief strategist,†Meyers notes. “And a quick side note to everyone referring to Bannon as ‘controversial’: He’s not controversial. He’s a white nationalist and an anti-Semite. Don’t talk about him like he’s pineapple on pizza.†Meyers also covers The Wall Street Journal’s report that Trump is so unprepared for the job that President Obama plans to stick around longer than usual to help him. “So now Obama has to tutor Trump on the presidency. Can you believe that? That’s like if a burglar broke into your house and you had to walk him around and show him where all the valuables were.â€
