The first footage from Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner sequel, Blade Runner 2049, has arrived. The teaser confirms that Harrison Ford will return as Rick Deckard — the LAPD officer and “blade runner†of the original film. As an earlier plot summary revealed, the events of the sequel bring us 34 years into the future wherein a new blade runner (Ryan Gosling, as “Officer Kâ€) must find Deckard, who has been MIA these three decades — to help him after he “unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.†Sound familiar? Particularly the “Let’s find our old pal Harrison Ford, who has been in hiding since the events before, and make him help us†part? You’d be forgiven for hearing that synopsis and thinking, “This is kind of like the plot to The Force Awakens, no?â€
