Let’s face it: There was simply not enough strange in Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Luckily, a stint playing Richard III, one of Shakespeare’s most repulsive villains, is here to change things. Cumberbatch stars as Richard in PBS’s British import The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses, which tackles Shakespeare’s history plays Henry VI (Part 1), Henry VI (Part 2), and Richard III, as a sort of sequel to the first iteration of The Hollow Crown, which covered the plays from Richard II to Henry V and premiered in 2012. PBS has already aired the first two installments in The Wars of the Roses, and the final will arrive on December 25 at 9 p.m. Eastern. Have fun spending your holidays trying to figure out whether you’re attracted to Richard III!
