It’s official: SNL alum Jay Pharoah is headed to Showtime. Variety reports that the network has given a series order to White Famous, which was ordered to pilot back in June. Produced by Jamie Foxx and loosely based on his early career, the series stars Pharoah as “an up-and-coming comedian who is trying to maintain his credibility with African-American fans while crossing over to become ‘white famous.’†Foxx will produce and play a recurring role in the series, Tom Kapinos (Californication) will serve as showrunner, and Megalyn Echikunwoke, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Jacob Ming-Trent, and Lonnie Chavis will round out the cast.
