Following President Trump’s first speech to Congress on Tuesday night, Stephen Colbert went live on the Late Show. Though he and his writers didn’t have much time to work on jokes after the prime-time address, Colbert managed to deliver over 12 minutes of comedy about the speech during his monologue. While it was a tamer than expected address from the 45th president, Colbert channeled his politically charged Daily Show and Colbert Show past to look at the message underneath the words and the truth behind the matching blue ties worn by Mike Pence and Paul Ryan (twinsies!).
