When Elliot and the rest of fsociety return for another season of Mr. Robot next October, they’re bringing Bobby Cannavale into the mix. Variety reports that the USA hacker series has tapped Cannavale, who is fresh off starring in HBO’s Vinyl, to play a “laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman.†Does this mean that Elliot (Rami Malek) will be riding creepy, abandoned subways less in the third season? Unclear. Mr. Robot has also promoted B.D. Wong from his job as scene-stealing guest star to series regular. Wong plays mysterious trans hacker Whiterose, who lives her public life as Chinese minister of state security Zheng. Whiterose is one of the more surprising, and nuanced, characters in a show that loves twists. The third season has been pushed back to a fall release date.
