You can’t blame Seth Meyers for increasingly turning to his long-running segment A Closer Look to process the ongoing horror show of the current presidency. Tonight, it was a wide-ranging journey from the decline in Trump’s approvals, to the continuing saga of Devin Nunes’s role in the Russia scandal (and employee fealty to the prez instead of his own constituents), to Sean Spicer’s job difficulty level (less than Bill Cosby’s publicist, apparently), to the new GOP initiative to let companies sell your internet data, to Trump’s reluctance to embrace email, to tax reform. It’s a lot to process, but hey – so is this country right now.
