And with that, the official Ladies in Late Night counter slowly turns the number on it its ancient, dust-covered ticker over to two. Comedian Iliza Shlesinger, winner of 2008’s Last Comic Standing, host of the TBS game show Separation Anxiety, and star of three Netflix stand-up specials, will host Truth & Iliza for Freeform, the network’s first foray into late-night programming. Each episode of the weekly show, which premieres its six-week run on May 2, will revolve around a “themed question that the host will try to answer using audience interaction, field pieces, commentary and, of course, jokes.†Said Shlesinger of the pickup, “I’m so grateful to Freeform for inviting me to create a show that occupies a space between social commentary, politics, pop culture and my specific brand of comedy and feminism. This show will inform, entertain, and it’s a great excuse to get a spray tan.†Now, think of the beautiful spray tans we’ll all get when we finally make it to three female late-night hosts. Could a spray tan more beautiful even exist?
