It’s a bad week for Amazon comedy series. According to Deadline, the streaming network has canceled Tig Notaro’s One Mississippi, Jill Soloway’s I Love Dick, and the Jean-Claude Van Damme-starring Jean-Claude Van Johnson. One Mississippi wrapped up its second season back in September, while I Love Dick and Jean-Claude Van Johnson both debuted their first seasons last year. The cancellations come as Amazon reportedly is pushing “towards bigger, wider-audience series†and “big, broad drama hits,†which probably has something to do with it also recently passing on all three of its new comedy pilots, including Bridget Everett’s very promising pilot Love You More.
