Black History Month has begun, so during last nightâs The Opposition, Jordan Klepper welcomed Citizen Journalist Kobi Libii to check in on how Fox News, AKA âtelevisionâs home for Black History Month,â is handling things: âAll across Fox News, theyâre taking advantage of this month to really listenâŚto themselves telling black people how to act.â Libii specifically focuses on Fox News figures like Laura Ingraham and Greg Gutfeld and their complaining about things like the Congressional Black Caucus not applauding during Trumpâs State of the Union and NFL players kneeling in protest of police brutality â issues important to the BLM movement (as in âBlack Lives? Manners!â, not Black Lives Matter). âBlack manners dictate that if you want to participate in the public discourse you need to be either fun or grateful, and ideally both!â Libii says. âBut if black people donât speak in a humble, accessible way, the rest of America wonât hear them.â And no outlet covers the âBlack Lives? Manners!â movement better than Fox News: âThese guys just donât see raceâŚuntil they do, and then immediately become an authority on it.â
