The 2018 Writers Guild Awards were handed out in New York and Los Angeles last night, and when it comes to this year’s comedy nominees, Veep, BoJack Horseman, Saturday Night Live, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Will & Grace took home awards this year. In the New Series category, Netflix comedies GLOW and American Vandal lost to Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and Jordan Peele took home the award for Original Screenplay for his directorial debut Get Out. Check out the comedy winners below, plus some clips from the New York and LA ceremonies hosted by Amber Ruffin and Patton Oswalt, respectively. (Ruffin’s monologue was pretty wonderful and includes the line “Bill Maher: Go fuck yourself!â€)
