If you walked out of If Beale Street Could Talk thinking — at least in part — “Wow, where can I see more Teyonah Parris?,†producer Jordan Peele and director Nia DaCosta have your answer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Parris has been cast to star in the new Candyman film, which is being classified as a “spiritual sequel†to the original. She will be playing opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen (recently seen as the technologically savvy and dangerous Black Manta in Aquaman), who was announced earlier this week as the one to take over the iconic titular character.
