On Tuesday night, Conan decided to try and get the human side of this week’s biggest story. He attempted to interview a real-life USC student about the recent college admissions cheating scandal, but, like a nosy guidance counselor who doesn’t know when to quit, he soon found his efforts to learn the truth thwarted by the wealthy and powerful. The student he ended up with was the USC basketball team’s starting center: a kid who calls his dad “father†and has his family’s name on the stadium. If our beloved Coco could be fooled into giving someone access to his show by such shenanigans, how could a college admissions board have stood a chance?
