His tenure as a Bravo talk-show host may have been short-lived, but Jerry O’Connell already has a new TV hosting gig lined up. O’Connell has signed on to host a daytime talk show produced by Funny or Die titled Jerry O, which will include celebrity guests as well as comedy segments Funny or Die produced exclusively for the show. While Jerry O doesn’t yet have a permanent home, it will air on Fox-owned stations for a three-week trial run starting on Monday, August 12.
“I love daytime. I love watching it and have fallen in love with guest-hosting it. Whether asking people to ‘Cash Me Outside’ or asking them ‘How You Doin’?’ daytime is a big part of my life,†O’Connell said on the project. “This is going to be a fun, fun time and everyone is invited. Let’s party.†Funny or Die CEO Mike Farah also commented on the news, saying, “Jerry is one of the all-time great guys. He’s funny and smart and his energy is contagious.†Jerry O, which is also produced by Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, will mark Funny or Die’s first-ever daytime talk show.
