From the director of the nerve-twisting Berberian Sound Studio and the kinky romance The Duke of Burgundy comes a horror movie about a sexy red dress. Peter Strickland’s In Fabric tells the story of a woman, played by Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who pops into a shop one day and acquires a hot little red dress with a mind of its own and bad intentions. There’s also a mysterious shopkeeper who looks transplanted straight out of a Lucio Fulci film and seems keenly aware of the clothing’s power. The writer and director is reveling once again in his love for the sensual stylings of giallo horror, with its vivid colors and textures and high-grade pulp.
