The team that brought you HBO’s Big Little Lies is reuniting to create a new tale of intrigue among the well heeled, this time on Hulu. An adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s latest book Nine Perfect Strangers has been greenlit by the streaming service with David E. Kelley and John Henry Butterworth co-writing the series, and Nicole Kidman and Bruna Papandrea producing. It follows nine stressed-out city dwellers at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation. Kidman will play the resort’s director Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect†strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
Hulu also confirmed it has greenlit the limited series The Dropout, which will star SNL’s Kate McKinnon as Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes. McKinnon is also executive producing the drama, inspired by an ABC News podcast of the same name. So, if you’re into deep voices and lots of intrigue, this is your year.
