With Game of Thrones ending, everyone is scrambling to fill the dragon-shaped hole in their hearts and viewing schedules. Hulu, sensitive to our plight, has green-lit a pilot based on the Stephen King YA title The Eyes of the Dragon. According to Deadline, Seth Grahame-Smith is writing the first episode and will serve as showrunner. King originally spun the yarn for his daughter, Naomi, about two princes in the realm of Delain. Why he told a story about two princes to his daughter? We may never know. But we do know that the book connects to King’s Dark Tower series. “The goal for this series is to feel unlike any Stephen King adaptation before, with this rich underlying source material, and the only true fantasy book he wrote that has kings and swords and princesses,†Grahame-Smith told Deadline. “We will honor the spirit of the book and the legacy.â€
