After winning the Grand Jury Prize as well as the Special Jury Awards for both Impact for Change and Cinematography, the Sundance darling Honeyland is coming to the public. The story follows a woman living in near total isolation with her mother in the mountains of Macedonia. She earns money selling honey that she harvests using ancient beekeeping techniques, and her very quiet life is disrupted by a loud family that moves in next to her property and starting elbowing in on her honey trade. It’s one of those movies that feels like the slow pans across nature and worn faces will move you to a steady slow weep throughout. Honeyland arrives in theaters on July 26.
