After cutting Jeffrey Tambor from the series in the wake of an investigation into sexual misconduct claims, Transparent is pivoting hard into … suddenly becoming a musical? In a first teaser for the “Musicale Finale,†Amazon has given a glimpse of Judith Light’s Shelly Pfefferman’s not-quite-respectful response to Maura’s death, which involves breaking into a song called “Your Boundary Is My Trigger.†Creator Jill Soloway and Faith Soloway previously experimented with a musical version of Transparent at Joe’s Pub in New York, and it looks like the TV version will take most of its cues from that performance. In addition to Light, the finale will feature Gaby Hoffmann, Amy Landecker, Jay Duplass, Alexandra Billings, Kathryn Hahn, Shakina Nayfack, Trace Lysette, “as well as a number of fan favorite characters.†It will premiere this fall.
