On paper, Snoop Dogg, stoner rap legend and friend of Martha Stewart, and Nick Cave, eternally sad rocker, could not be more different. But Snoop is, in fact, a fan of Cave’s, via the BBC One show Peaky Blinders. The British gangster series uses Cave’s 1994 hit “Red Right Hand†as its theme, so of course, Snoop had to cover it for the upcoming fifth season. Somehow, it’s better than all the show’s past covers of the song, which range from Arctic Monkeys to PJ Harvey to fellow stoners FIDLAR. Wearing the requisite flat cap, Snoop says, “By the order of the Peaky Blinders, this is ‘Red Right Hand,’ by Snoop Shelby! Check it out,†referencing the show’s gang leader Tommy Shelby.
