Sometimes, casting choices will make us scratch our heads in disbelief. Maybe we’ll wonder if and how a given actor might pull off a certain character. We might squint at a picture of said actor and say, “Maybe I can sort of see it.†This is not one of those times. In perhaps some of the most obvious casting news in recent memory, Zoë Kravitz is confirmed as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in the upcoming The Batman movie, directed by Matt Reeves. She joins Robert Pattinson as Batman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Jonah Hill is also in talks to play a villain, but this has not been confirmed. Kravitz, who has actually already voiced Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie, starred most recently in Big Little Lies alongside heavyweights like Laura Dern and Meryl Streep, so we already know she can hold her own. Catwoman is an iconic role previously played by Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway, and Halle Berry. Kravitz has some very tight spandex to fill, but we have faith in her.
