It’s no secret that Tom Holland isn’t great at keeping secrets. But this time he’s not only allowed to blab, he’s encouraged. Here’s everything we know about the 4th Tom Holland Spider-Man movie, including Holland’s thoughts on the script.
The first Spider-Man 4
February 15, 2023: Time and time again he’s fumbled an NDA as various late-night talk-show hosts (and Instagram Live participants) try to sneak an exclusive reveal from the Spider-Man star. However, the latest big Marvel news comes from Mr. Marvel himself, Kevin Feige. He tells Entertainment Weekly that a fourth Spider-Man movie is in development and currently being written. “All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that and our writers are just putting pen to paper now,†Feige shared intentionally. But this leaves a larger question: Did Holland know a new script was being written for him, making him the first Spider-Man with a fourth movie? Or did he check Twitter, surprised and excited for what’s to come like the rest of us normies? He hinted in 2019 that he was continuing on as the superhero before the announcement of No Way Home. Holland hasn’t posted about the news just yet (he’s probably tap-dancing his heart away as Fred Astaire), which means he was probably included in the Zoom meetings. Yay Tom for keeping a secret!
Shooting (web) starts summer 2025
October 23, 2024: Once again Tom Holland is blabbing on The Tonight Show. Thank goodness, this time it’s with Feige’s approval. Holland confirmed that his fourth Spider-Man is indeed happening, and that shooting begins next summer. In a separate interview, Holland said the script had him and Zendaya “bouncing around the living room.â€
“The idea is crazy,†Holland said on Good Morning America. “It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.†How different are we talking? Will we get Spider-Man: the College Years? Maybe a cinematic adaptation of the Clone Saga. Or will Peter Parker team up with a certain daywalker and start slaying vamps? That’s right, Spider-Man 4 is the perpetually delayed Blade 1! No, probably not that.
