Features

The flexible nature of ZenBusiness’ pricing structure means businesses can pick and choose the features they need, albeit at fairly high add-on prices for the lower-tier plans. Its Starter plan offers filing in five to seven business days as well as one free year of “worry-free compliance,” while all other LLC features are available at varying prices, allowing businesses to build their own tailored bundle.

Upgrading to the Pro plan includes compliance features and an operating agreement, expedited filing and an employer identification number (EIN). The Premium plan gives you access to the full set of LLC services in one inclusive price. You’ll be able to create business documents, a business website, a domain name and business email address.

While it offers a full array of business features, it does lack on the legal side, so those looking for more attorney-based services might prefer other providers.

Pricing

Along with a few other providers on our list, ZenBusiness offers free standard LLC filing, so you only need to pay the Florida state fee of $100. While you can benefit from the flexibility offered by ZenBusiness’ add-on structure on the lower tiers, these can be pricey.

After your first year of worry-free compliance, it resumes at $199 a year. You’ll also need to pay $99 each for an operating agreement and EIN and $79 for faster filing. For businesses that want each of these services, it will make more sense to start with the Pro plan, which includes them all for $199 a year.

Customer Service

ZenBusiness’ customer service team is available every day of the week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT, Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT on weekends. You can access support by phone and live chat as well as email, ideal for getting a quick response when you need it. Online reviews of its customer service are largely positive too.

Reputation

With an Excellent score of 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from over 16,000 reviews at the time of writing, ZenBusiness is very popular with its customers. Many of the verified online reviews cite excellent customer service, although there is some mixed feedback on pricing.

Expert Take

Features

Rocket Lawyer is more of a legal advice and assistance platform rather than strictly a business formation service, so you won’t be able to pay a one-time fee to set up your LLC. Instead, it offers two subscription plans, Rocket Legal or Rocket Legal+. You get pretty much the same functionality with each: access to legal and tax help, trademarks, registered agent services and business registration. The benefit of Rocket Legal+ is that you get a lower price on its add-on services. For example, registered agent service costs $124.99 rather than $249.99.

We recommend Rocket Lawyer for businesses that want or need a focused legal platform with access to advice and a wide range of legal documents. It caters to multiple areas, such as business contracts, real estate and family matters, all customizable and protected with Document Defense.

Pricing

Rocket Lawyer is fairly middle of the road when it comes to pricing, but whether it offers value depends on your requirements as a business. The $239.88 annual subscription price for Rocket Legal+ gives you free business registration (excluding state fees—$100 in Florida) and half off of its “Pro Services,” which include retaining a legal pro, tax preparation and filing, trademark registration and a registered agent.

If you pay monthly instead ($39.99/month) for the Rocket Legal subscription, you’ll pay $99.99 for business registration plus the state fee. If you plan to make use of its extensive legal features, then Rocket Lawyer may be worth the cost, but if you just need basic business formation services, it’s probably not the best option.

Customer Service

You can reach Rocket Lawyer’s customer support team by phone, live chat and email, and its business hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT. While the lack of weekend service isn’t desirable, having live chat and phone service available is good for those who value quick access to support and the convenience of multiple channels.

Reputation

At face value, Rocket Lawyer’s Excellent 4.7 score on Trustpilot seems to be a positive, but the majority of these reviews are “invited,” while the average score of “verified” reviews is much lower. Some even accuse the company of tampering with reviews and making unwarranted charges, so it might be something to bear in mind before committing.

Pros & Cons
  • Access to a wide range of legal documents
  • Legal and tax support by phone or online
  • Intuitive and easy-to-use platform

  • No one-time payment for LLC formation—must subscribe
  • Not the most affordable option

Expert Take

Features

Swyft Filings’ most notable benefit is its speed of processing, with its Premium plan offering same-day LLC filing and expedited shipping as standard. Swyft Filings has a simple dashboard and array of features, and all plans include a comprehensive name check and lifetime customer support.

We recommend it for businesses that value speedy processing and are willing to pay the price for it—on lower plans, filing can take up to three weeks, and you might find better value elsewhere. Additionally, Swyft Filings doesn’t offer many extra services beyond business formation and management.

Pricing

As with others on our list, Swyft Filings offers a free plus state fees ($100 in Florida) option for filing your LLC, but given that most providers have a similar basic plan, the three-week turnaround may not be enough for some. The Premium service is priced at $299 plus state fees and offers same-day processing. This service may require a higher financial commitment for those who need faster filing, but it includes access to all other services at no additional cost.

We’d recommend its Premium service for those looking for fast filing, but for anyone looking for an affordable basic LLC filing service, this may not be the best option.

Customer Service

All Swyft Filings plans offer access to lifetime customer support by phone, email and live chat, which is impressive and likely to be of high value to users. Its hours are from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. There is no weekend support, but having live chat and phone support available on all plans is a big plus, especially for those who want fast access to help.

Reputation

Swyft Filings has an Excellent score on Trustpilot, rated 4.7 out of 5 from well over 6,000 reviews—many of which are verified reviews rather than “invited” reviews that some other providers on our list have. There is plenty of positive feedback, especially for its support team; however, some users have complained of mistaken charges.

Pros & Cons
  • Same-day processing on Premium plan
  • Lifetime customer support by phone, chat and email
  • Flexible pricing plan with add-on structure

  • Legal services only available on Premium plan

Expert Take

Features

BetterLegal is our pick for businesses that want an LLC formation service with a strong focus on compliance, ensuring you file all ongoing paperwork with the state. It offers a core business formation service for LLCs and corporations at a flat rate plus state fees, and this includes an EIN, operating agreement and banking resolution. It also includes a free website, tax analysis and business checking, and the option to add BetterLegal’s integrated payroll, benefits and HR platform.

BetterLegal’s state compliance service is an ongoing add-on subscription, as is its registered agent service. While it offers plenty in the way of business formation and management, it does lack the extra legal and attorney features that other providers offer.

Pricing

BetterLegal’s flat pricing structure is one of the more expensive on our list, costing $299 for both LLC and corporation formation as well as state fees—in this case, $100 for Florida. It’s also an extra $10 a month or $90 a year for both its state compliance and registered agent services, but this is relatively affordable compared to other providers. It’s another $125 if you opt for its business permit and license search.

Overall, it’s a costly service and might offer good value for those who need a consistent compliance service, but it lacks wider features that others provide.

Customer Service

You can reach BetterLegal’s customer service team through phone, live chat and contact form online. The variety of options is solid, offering different ways of getting a quick response. Along with most providers, it only has Monday to Friday customer support between the hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, so you won’t find any weekend service. However, online reviews of its customer support team are mostly positive, which is encouraging.

Reputation

BetterLegal has an Excellent score of 4.7 on Trustpilot, but this is from just over 300 reviews at the time of writing. That being said, many of the comments are particularly positive about the ease with which you can set up an LLC.

  • Flat pricing structure

Expert Take

Features

Inc Authority offers plenty of business services in its free LLC formation package, including a business name check, articles of organization preparation and filing, S-corp tax election filing, digital document storage, tax consultation and business credit and funding analysis. It also includes its registered agent service free for one year. Overall, it’s a comprehensive offering for a free plan.

However, many of its extra services, such as tax preparation, trademarking, trust planning and business plans, are all paid extras that involve plenty of upselling and an unclear pricing structure.

Pricing

There is very little pricing transparency with Inc Authority, as you’ll need to call them to order any services besides its free LLC formation. However, the free LLC offer does have plenty going for it, and the 24-hour internal processing time makes it an attractive option.

If you’re looking for a more powerful business management tool, you might be put off by the lack of information provided on its website and the absence of other services, such as legal or financial tools. Overall, Inc Authority falls a little behind some of the other providers.

Customer Service

Inc Authority offers customer support through phone and email as well as an online contact form. Its business hours are from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PT. There’s no chat support or weekend support, but its hours of availability are fairly standard. Online reviews of its support team are particularly positive.

Reputation

Inc Authority is one of the highest-rated providers on our list when it comes to public reviews, boasting an Excellent 4.9 score on Trustpilot from almost 35,000 reviews. There is plenty of good feedback for its customer support as well as how easy it is to use the service.

Pros & Cons
  • Free LLC formation bundle
  • Live U.S. customer support
  • Range of extra business services
  • Premium pricing not transparent
  • Add-on pricing can stack up
  • Lots of upselling

What Is an LLC Service?

An LLC service is useful in assisting business owners in forming and managing their LLCs. They handle and streamline various legal processes including filing paperwork, monitoring compliance requirements and providing admin support, and they usually offer a centralized dashboard for business owners to manage various aspects of their company.

Legal requirements can vary by state, so these services can be particularly useful for multistate businesses that need to balance compliance needs across different regions of the country. Some offer incorporation services for free, so you only pay state fees to file your LLC, while others offer various extras and add-ons to make managing your business easier and simpler.

Florida LLC Requirements

When you file your Florida LLC, it will go through the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, which has specific state laws and requirements you must follow:

  1. Pick a unique name for your LLC that is distinguishable from other businesses registered in the state. All businesses must include either Limited Liability Company, LLC or L.L.C in their name. You can apply for a name reservation in Florida for $25, and it will be reserved for 120 days.
  2. Select a registered agent to receive legal documents on behalf of your Florida LLC. It can be an individual or legal entity. The legal entity must have an active Florida filing or registration.
  3. File the articles of organization, which include information about your company such as its name, office address, purpose and registered agent details.
  4. File an annual report to remain “active” in Florida’s records, which confirms your information with the state. It needs to be filed by May 1 every year. The fee for an annual report in Florida is $138.75.
  5. Submit a beneficial ownership information report. All new businesses must file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report with FinCEN. LLCs formed before 2024 have until January 1, 2025, to file. Those formed in 2024 have 90 days from registration. Starting January 1, 2025, new LLCs will have 30 days to file. This quick process takes about 20 minutes to complete, and you’ll need to provide information about the owners of the business.
  6. Finally, you might require specific business licenses or permits depending on the type of business you operate. Florida requires a sales tax license.

The standard filing fee in Florida is $100, but it does not offer an expedited filing service online. However, you can go in person to the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee, and your filing can be completed while you wait.

How To Choose the Best Florida LLC Service

It’s important to consider a few crucial factors when trying to find the best Florida LLC service for your business. Ideally, you want a service that offers a straightforward route to formation, with a fast turnaround time and good customer support.

Essential LLC Service Features

While specific needs are likely to vary between different types of businesses and industries, here are some of the key services to look for in an LLC service.

  • Formation service: It should offer assistance with filing paperwork such as articles of organization.
  • Registered agent service: It may also offer registered agent services so it can receive important legal documentation on your LLC’s behalf.
  • Compliance monitoring: A good LLC service will monitor deadlines for compliance requirements such as your annual report and various other state-specific due dates.
  • Templates: You should also have access to customizable templates for various legal documents and items of paperwork.
  • Business license research: Your chosen service might also identify necessary licenses or permits you require to conduct business in Florida.

Packages and Add-Ons

Some of the providers we’ve reviewed offer an add-on pricing structure that often gives you access to its core LLC filing service for free (not including state fees, which in Florida amounts to $100). This can be useful for businesses that may only need some of the services listed above, while more premium plans are likely to offer some or all of these as standard.

However, the cost of add-ons can quickly stack up, so it can offer better value for some businesses, especially bigger companies with more complex requirements, to choose higher-tier plans and benefit from the full range of services.

Ease of Use

Most platforms will give you access to a centralized dashboard where you can view and manage various aspects of your business, including paperwork and deadlines. Look for something with an easy-to-use and intuitive interface, along with helpful resources and quick access to support.

Customer Service

Customer service and support are key for resolving issues. Unfortunately, 24/7 support is rare for LLC services; only one of the providers we’ve reviewed offers it. Most will offer support Monday through Friday during their business hours, but some also offer support on weekends, which can be necessary for businesses that operate on all days of the week.

Live chat and phone support are the quickest ways to access help when you need it, so keep an eye out for companies that offer one or both of these options.
