Platforms Supported
Dashlane sunset its apps for Windows and macOS in January 2022. The company transitioned to a web-first experience, and all users need to access their Dashlane accounts via the Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Chromium extension. Safari users need to download the new Dashlane app for Safari. Mobile apps for iOS and Android are not changing.
Security
Dashlane employs a zero-knowledge architecture that guarantees only you know what’s in your password vault; your data isn’t even visible to Dashlane employees. End-to-end AES-256 encryption, the gold standard in security, keeps your login credentials and passwords safe.
Two-factor authentication ensures a secure login experience; Dashlane is compatible with top mobile authenticator apps like Google Authenticator and also supports Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) security keys.
All paid Dashlane accounts come with a virtual private network (VPN), which provides a more secure browsing experience. Paid plans also include dark web monitoring services, which alert you should personal information related to your email appear on the dark web. Personalized security alerts will give you a heads-up should an account you store on the platform ever be affected by a known security breach.
Customer Support
Dashlane provides customer support via an extensive online knowledge base, email, live chat, Twitter and Reddit. Live support hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. Overall, Dashlane scores high marks from users for its timely and helpful support.
Dashlane live chat support isn’t available on weekends, though English language emails are handled 24/7. Dashlane is available in English, French, German and Spanish and email support is offered in all those languages except Spanish, which feels like a pretty big miss.
Fine Print
Dashlane also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee for its personal and family plans, but not for its business plans. You can still test the business plans risk-free for up to 500 employees with Dashlane’s 14-day free trial.
With a max storage capacity of 50 passwords and account access restricted to only one device, the free plan is limited. Still, it’s on par with the features you could expect from free plans offered by other easy-to-use password managers.

Dashlane ranked as the most reliable password manager in our 2025 comparison. It’s a user-friendly solution that offers the same top features provided by other popular password managers. The main disadvantage to Dashlane is its high business plan prices; you’ll pay up to $5 more per user per month with Dashlane when compared to Bitwarden. That may not sound like a lot but that can add up over time, especially if you have a large team.
Is Dashlane Right for You or Your Business?
Dashlane is a solid choice for families with up to six users. Dashlane is also an effective solution for small businesses that require seamless deployment, enforceable policy settings and advanced account monitoring and reporting.
