Sad news: Earlier today in Chicago, an extra-alarm fire broke out in Old Town where Second City’s theater and offices are located, and the Chicago Tribune reports that Second City’s offices have been “destroyed,†though the fire reportedly did not spread to the theater. According to Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford, the fire started as a grease fire at the Adobo Grill located on the first floor. Two firefighters and one civilian were injured. Time Out reports that Second City EVP Kelly Leonard posted the following update to Facebook:
Almost 30 years of my stuff at Second City is burned and gone. But it’s just stuff. The people are what’s important.
