Benj Pasek and Justin Paul just got the E for their EGOT, winning a Creative Arts Emmy for the song “Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?†from Only Murders in the Building season three. It was stiff competition for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics: Frequent Creative Arts Emmy winner Maya Rudolph was nominated for her Mother’s Day Saturday Night Live monologue, as was the perennially slept-on Girls5eva.
But what did Pasek and Paul get their GOTs for? The pair won a Tony and Grammy for Dear Evan Hansen — the show and cast recording, respectively. And they won an Oscar for La La Land’s “City of Stars.†That win shut out Lin-Manuel Miranda from getting his EGOT. And he’s not even going to do Moana 2!
